Creating Your First Survey
Learn how to create a professional survey that will engage your respondents and collect meaningful feedback.
Choosing the Right Survey Type
The first step is selecting the survey type that best fits your goals. Each type is optimized for different use cases.
Star Rating
Classic 1-5 star rating. Perfect for measuring overall satisfaction with products, services, or experiences.
NPS (0-10)
Net Promoter Score measures customer loyalty. "How likely are you to recommend us?"
Thumbs Up/Down
Simple binary feedback. Great for quick reactions to articles, support interactions, or features.
Emoji Scale
Fun and engaging 5-point emoji scale. Works well for casual feedback and younger audiences.
Writing Effective Survey Titles
Your survey title is the first thing respondents see. Make it clear and inviting.
✓ Good Examples:
- "How was your experience with our support team?"
- "Rate your recent purchase"
- "Help us improve our product"
✗ Avoid:
- "Survey #47" (not descriptive)
- "PLEASE TAKE THIS SURVEY!!!" (too aggressive)
- "Quick survey about our company's Q4 customer satisfaction metrics" (too long)
Adding Follow-up Questions
Follow-up questions let you collect additional context after the main rating. Enable this feature to understand the "why" behind ratings.
Example follow-up text:
"Thanks for your rating! Would you like to share any additional feedback?"
Preview Before Publishing
Always preview your survey before publishing. Check that:
- The title is clear and professional
- The survey type matches your goals
- Colors match your brand (Pro/Business plans)
- Follow-up question text is appropriate
