Coming Soon: Two-Factor Authentication for Account Security
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is one of our most-requested security features, and it's currently in active development. Here's a preview of how it will work once it ships.
How It Will Work
You'll enable 2FA from your account security settings by scanning a QR code with any standard authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.). Once enabled, logging in will require both your password and a time-based one-time code from your authenticator app.
Backup Codes
When you enable 2FA, we'll generate a set of one-time backup codes you can store securely and use if you ever lose access to your authenticator app. We'll recommend saving these somewhere safe immediately after enabling 2FA.
Recommended for All Accounts
Once available, we'll recommend enabling 2FA for every account, but especially for accounts with admin access to sensitive survey data or billing information.
Recovery if You Lose Access
If you lose both your authenticator app and your backup codes, our support team will be able to verify your identity through an alternate process and restore account access — though this will take longer than using a backup code, which is why we'll recommend storing them in a password manager rather than relying on account recovery as your primary fallback.
There's no exact ship date yet, and today account security still relies on your password alone. Team-level enforcement (requiring all team members to enable 2FA) is planned to follow alongside our upcoming Team Workspaces feature. Reach out to support if you'd like to be notified the moment 2FA ships.
